'Split Window' VW Thing

"This 'Split Window' Thing was my creation, the only one in the world in 1979-82. It had a 1911cc Porsche 914 motor with hand-made fan and tinware so that it fit into the Thing Engine Bay. The Heat Exchangers were shortened. It had twin carbs and would exceed 100 mph on Reduction Boxes! 0-60 was about 5.9 seconds (it would take off in 3rd Gear). It was the most fun vehicle I ever owned..."
